The UKSSB would encourage applicants for the following opportunity from the spinal community. Further Details: https://www.rcseng.ac.uk/about-the-rcs/international-affairs/global-surgical-advisors/
The RCS is establishing a network of six Global Surgical Advisors to represent the college and act as a strategic voice for international members. Supported by the Global Affairs Office, these new roles will help to shape and influence our engagement with overseas institutions, establish networks of Country Advisors and promote RCS projects, research, collaborations, examinations, courses and standards internationally.
A Global Surgical Advisor will be appointed for each of the following regions:
Americas
Europe
Middle East and North Africa
South East Asia
Sub-Saharan Africa
Western Pacific
With approximately 20% of our members residing outside the UK in almost 100 countries, this is an exciting time to get involved in the international work of the RCS. Our ambitious global strategy aims to proactively engage all our members, stakeholders and partners; advance surgical care, training, research and standards globally; and increase the profile and influence of the RCS as a leading advocate for improving access to safe, affordable surgery.
Expressions on interest for these positions are invited from Fellows who feel that they are able to contribute to our global agenda and international work. Applicants do not necessarily need to be based in the region that they wish to represent but they must demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of the region, as well as have established networks. Applicants from non-UK Fellows are particularly encouraged. Appointments will be approved by Council for a term of three years in the first instance.
To apply for these positions, please email a completed Expression of Interest Form together with a full CV to the Global Affairs Office of the RCS by Friday 24th May 2019.
